Housing Rehabilitation Program

Program Overview:

0% interest loans available to income eligible households for home repairs made available by the City of Waupun through Community Development Block Grant Revolving Loan Funds.  Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.  There is no cost to fill out an application and all information submitted is strictly confidential. 

Types of Assistance Available:

Homeowners:

These funds are a loan to eligible households for home repairs.  The loan is a 0% interest, deferred payment loan – you do not pay it back until you sell the house or no longer live there. 

Home Purchasers (1st Time Homebuyers - not have owned a home in a year):

Loans are available to assist with purchasing a home.  The primary financing will need to be from a lender.  The loan is a 0% interest, deferred payment loan – you do not pay it back until you sell the house or no longer live there.  Funds can assist with down payment and closing costs.  There may also be funds available to make repairs to the home that you purchase.

Landlords & Investor Owned Property:

Installment loans are available for landlords who rent to tenants that are low- to moderate- income.  The loan is a 0% interest loan with monthly payments.  Contact the program administrator for more details. 

Qualifying Repairs & Improvements

The loan can be used to make the following types of repairs:

  • Handicap Accessibility
  • Replace Windows & Doors
  • Roofing
  • Electrical Upgrades
  • Connect Water & Sewer Lines
  • Painting, Siding, Porch Repairs
  • Repair/Replace Heating Systems, Water Heaters & Plumbing Systems
  • Other General Improvements
